Thurber House is a museum and literary center. Thurber House is open for
tours during the week. Thurber House also offers creative writing
programs for all ages including Thurber Summer Writing Camps for
students going into 2nd-9th grade. Camps run June through August and
offer a great opportunity for young writers to stretch their
imaginations and write their own stories, poems, plays, and more! Thurber House
has authors, artists, teachers, and more come in each day with fun
writing activities to encourage and inspire them to write outside of the
classroom.
Thurber Summer Writing Camps are back in person and as fun as ever! Camps are filled with guest writers and storytellers, walking field trips, mysteries to solve, tons of creative writing prompts and activities, time to make messes with craft supplies, and more. If you love to write and use your imagination, this camp is for you! There are scholarships available and multiple weeks to choose from.
Camps run from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. for 2nd/3rd grade camp or 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for 4th-9th grade camps.
