Students at Metro Institute of Technology will benefit from the optional, 5-year program to earn not only their HS diploma but have the opportunity to earn stackable career certificates and credentials that could possibly include their associate’s degree!

Metro Institute of Technology (MIT) is a tuition free, STEM, early college high school that opened its doors in August 2015. Metro treats each student individually and meets all learners where they are by customizing schedules, providing individualized support through office hours and helping each student reflect on their own growth through our advisory course. MIT prepares students for life after high school through a rigorous, mastery based curriculum. After demonstrating success in at least 16 of their core required HS graduation requirements, students will earn the right to begin one of the “Early College Pathways.”

The pathways include 4-year or 5-year options and some have stackable career credentials, certificates, and possibly even an associate’s degree associated with them! Pathways options include BODIES (medicine), DESIGN (engineering), DIGITAL (interactive media, computer science or cybersecurity), ENERGY (energy production and environmental policy), and GROWTH (agricultural science or culinary). Each early college experience has a different higher-education partner including the Ohio State University, Columbus State Community College or Franklin University.  In addition to early college coursework associated with each pathway, students will have the opportunity to participate in career exploration through participation in internships and/or capstone research projects.

MIT is a tuition free, STEM, early college high school. The online application is free and easy.

Apply today! Limited seats are still available for 9th or 10th graders in August 2018.

Tuition is FREE; $100 or $200 student fee includes technology lease for the school year.
