Lifting Hopes Pump & Run

Lifting Hopes is offering a free kids’ clinic after their 6th annual Pump and Run 5k event, which will be conducted by Olympic Gold Medalist, Butch Reynolds. Butch will spend an hour with kids conducting speed drills, giving tips on technique, and having fun!  He will also bring his gold medals and sign autographs. Kids can register online free of charge.

Registration is limited, so act fast! All proceeds will go towards local families battling pediatric cancer.

Participants at the Lifting Hopes event can choose to do a Pump and Run, a standard 5k and a free kids’ clinic. If you are not familiar with a Pump and Run, a participant’s score will be based on a combination of how many times he/she can bench press their weight and their 5K race time. To calculate the score, an athlete will reduce their 5K run time by 30 seconds for each successful lift (maximum 30 reps for a maximum of 15 minute reduction. Participants may also just run or walk in the 5k portion of the event. Kids are also encouraged to register in our free Kid’s Clinic with Olympic gold medalist, Butch Reynolds! Please note that although the Kid’s Clinic is free, you must register beforehand. Lifting Hopes is all volunteer led and all proceeds go to helping kids battling childhood cancer and their families offering free weekend getaways and help with transportation.
